- Making new connections: Volunteering is a great way to meet new people who share similar interests and values. It can help you expand your network, make new friends, and build meaningful relationships.
- Improving mental health: Volunteering has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health. It can reduce stress and depression, and increase happiness and self-esteem.
- Making a difference: Even small acts of volunteering can have a significant impact on your community and the world. By volunteering, you can be part of positive change and make a difference in people’s lives.
Overall, volunteering can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience that benefits both the individual and the community.
Volunteer with Camp Rainbow Gold
Volunteering with Camp Rainbow Gold is one opportunity to take advantage of those great benefits. Plus, you. can support children who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. Here are just 5 ways you can get involved with Camp Rainbow Gold.
- Be a Camp Counselor: Camp counselors provide leadership and guidance to 6-10 campers over the course of a week at our Youth, Teen, or Sibling Camp. Counselors dive in and participate with the campers as they learn to mountain bike, take on new crafts at the Art Shack, try their hands at archery, and participate in a variety of camp activities. Counselors are responsible for the safety of the campers and are on the front line in ensuring a great camp experience for each child.
- Help Out in the Camp Office: Our Camp office in Boise regularly has opportunities for volunteers to assist with mailings, organizing storage, corresponding with our donors, and more.
- Join the Event Team: We’re looking for volunteers year-round who want to join our Event Team. Members will attend approximately 1-2 events per month to chat about Camp Rainbow Gold and be an active part of the Treasure Valley community.
- Attend a Volunteer Day at Hidden Paradise: Opening and closing a camp like Hidden Paradise takes a lot of work! Keep an eye out in the spring and fall for volunteer day announcements where you can join us for a day in Fairfield to help set up or close up Idaho’s Medical Camp.
- Host a Fundraiser: Every program of Camp Rainbow Gold exists because of generous donations from our community. People all over Idaho think of inventive fundraisers — from bake sales to large galas, birthday gift drives to golf outings. Or simply start a fundraiser on your Facebook or Instagram page and share the joy of Camp Rainbow Gold with your friends!
Camp Rainbow Gold programs would not be possible without the support and passion of all our volunteers. We’d love to have you join the Camp Rainbow Gold family!
